Founded in early 18th century the town is still sometimes called Tsarskoe Selo (Tsar’s Village) it’s original name, that has been turned into Pushkin named after Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, who was educated at the imperial Lyceum there.
Tsarskoe Selo became the official imperial residence in the middle of 18th century.

The main sight is the Catherine Palace, designed in the Russian baroque style. It was originally built in the 1750s for Empress Elizabeth, who had inherited the estate from her mother Catherine I. The palace contains luxurious Grand Hall and Golden Enfilade of state Rooms including it’s most famous heritage newly restored Amber room.

After the palace take a walk around the gardens.

Pavlovsk Palace is a former royal residency as well. It is famous for the biggest park in Europe and gorgeous landscapes. Pavlovsk palace designed in neo classical style is a big contrast to Catherine’s palace.

10:00 – 11:00 drive to Puskin town

11:00 – 13:00 tour of catherines Palace and park

13:00-13:30 time for lunch

13:30 – 14:00 drive to the town Pavlovsk

14:00 – 16:00 tour of Pavlovsk Palace and Park

16:00 – 17:00 drive back to the city

17:00 back to hotel or sea port for cruise passengers
